Friday June 15th, 2007 at 7:05 PM EDT, I will be at Fenway Park watching my beloved San Francisco Giants take on the Boston Red Sox for the very first time. I am sitting in the center field bleachers (much like what you see above) where Barry Bonds might pop one... perhaps the million dollar 756 HR ball??? This game is huge in so many ways: 1. I heart San Francisco Giants baseball ANYTIME, ANYWHERE! 2. Fenway Park -- any baseball fan has got to visit it simply for its history! 3. Boston Red Sox - Finally I get to experience, firsthand, what Red Sox Nation is all about. Big Papi, Manny, and all the rest of 'em! 4. An infinitesimal shot at cashin in with Barry Bonds' 756 HR ball or at least possibly getting to watch Barry hit a HR in Fenway Park. Sure, I paid $50 more than the selling ticket price but hell, everything in the cosmos of the baseball universe came together such that the Giants would be in Boston exactly when I would be. Plus, I haven't been to a Giants baseball game in God knows how long. This all makes me feel all giddy like a little kid again and you can't put a price on that! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. I hope Red Sox fans won't get too chippy when I start celebrating a Giants victory! :) | | |
| I'm addicted to IM sports. Before it was one or two teams, but now it's ballooned to six. I must say, I'm glad to be such a sports whore that I would want to join so many teams and get so much exercise, but I also have a problem saying 'no'. Not that I don't want to play, but I'm just obsessed! I would rather do that than work in lab, study med school stuff, or quite possibly go dancing/drinking at LIVE (my fav club here in Ann Arbor). Briefly, the lineup (and current record): Softball: All Mens (2-0) + Co-rec (1-0) 4-on-4 Football: All Mens (0-1) + Co-rec (--) Sand Volleyball: Co-rec (--) 3-on-3 Basketball: All Mens (--) Some of these teams have double headers on their given nights, and with each game lasting approximately one hour, in one week, I get 8 hours worth of IM sports. Holla! As of Wednesday afternoon, I've played 4 games (3 softball + 1 flag football), but my muscles are aching... I wonder if that's a sign that I should tone it down. If I had to choose to drop one, I dunno which one I would! I love em all!!! | | |
| It's official, the Giants suck once again. Zito is no savior (not that I expected he would be, but kinda hoped). He has lost his first two games getting especially shelled today by the Dodgers. Bonds is old and gimpy. The average age of the team is 32 yrs old. Current record is 1-5. Welcome to suckville, population: San Francisco Giants active 40-man roster. AUUGHH!!!! I miss 2002 :( P.S. Devon - wanna have a bet to see who does worse this season? Astros or Giants? | | |
| We did it, we won! I didn't have a spectacular game, but our team still got the T-shirt and we got to play in Crisler Arena! I present to you, your 2007 Has Beens:
